Top Flite Nobler, Kit bellcrank
« on: February 17, 2013, 04:05:56 PM »
I have a Top Flite Nobler, kit built, hand-me-down Nobler.  In the fall, it had a hard crash.  One leadout tore off at the bellcrank.  Where does one cut to get into the bellcrank to put on new new leadout wires?

I don't have the plans anymore but if my memory serves me well it's right under the cockpit area in the wing.

The bellcrank pivot point is 3-1/2" behind the leading edge of the wing which is at the rear of the spar. Whatever you do don't cut into the spar..........  n1

Good luck. I had one that the same thing happened to and I gave it to a fellow modeler after I cut the top and bottom of the fuse off.  Shouldn't be to hard of a fix.

If it's an ordinary Green Box Nobler, this should show you where to cut: http://www.outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=525
You want to make 'em nice, else you get mad lookin' at 'em!

I once had to locate a "hidden" bellcrank, mainly because the pivot needed some oil.  Lucky for me, the "pivot" was a steel machine screw.  I found it using a magnet! Then, a couple very small holes in the sheet balsa allowed me to squirt in some oil.  It worked.

The original thread is three years old!  He just piggy-backed a question about the Ringmaster Roundup onto it!

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.
