Possible contest at Clanton, AL this November
« on: May 13, 2007, 05:53:56 AM »
Hey Guys,

The Central Alabama Stunt Squadron has discussed having a CLPA contest at the Clanton, AL site on Nov. 3rd/4th  of this year.  Clanton is at I 65 exit 205, about 30 miles north of Montgomery.

OTS, Profile, and Classic would be flown on Sat. the 3rd;  Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Expert would be flown on Sun. the 4th.

We have room for 4 grass circles, permanent restrooms, shower, RV's OK but no hook-up.  Lots of motels, etc. close by.

We would like to get some indication of how many would be interested in attending such an event.

What do you think?

Jim

Henry,

Maps.com says it is 144 miles from Dothan to Clanton.  Hope you and others from the S.E. part ofthe state can make it.

I used to live in Mobile! I am too far away now, but just for grins and giggles, how far would one must travel once you got off I-65?

Sounds like a good idea to me.  I should be able to make it and maybe I can get some of the other X47 Flyers to come also.

Jim;  If the weather forcast at that time is ok, I think I'd like to participate. Nothing going on in Indiana in November, and maybe I could convince some others to tag along. Keep us informed.

Blessings
Allen

Well now Jim,

I'll probably let Tom & John   drag me down to Clanton for a contest 3&4 Nov 07.  I unfortunately can't make
it to Marietta next week though.....shucks.

Looks like I need to check my calendar.  Do not forget about the Western Kentucky/Southern Illinios in Paducah on August 18 and 19.
