Lite Ply is made from Poplar and is more flexible than Birch plywood. I really wanted to sa the difference is about $4.00.  But what the hay the first sentance tells you what the difference is. Have fun.

Jim,

The lite ply is usually only 3 plys, and quite soft---not so good.
The aircraft grade birch ply "used to be" 7 ply, but the 5 ply stuff should be fine.

Cheers,

You can still get 7 ply. I've also used some 1/32" 5 play Oak veneer plywood that was interesting. Mostly, just the birch 5 ply stuff in 1/16, 1/32 and 1/64.
