Author Topic: Please pray for my DAD (Read 2910 times)

Day after Christmas my father suffered a mild stroke. His function and motor skills are still fine but he has lost the ability to speak. He is in the best Hospital in Las Vegas for stroke victims but his recovery will be long. My sister did hand him the phone and I told him he was not allowed to be sick and I told him I could not be there and that I loved him. I am still optimistic for his recovery but a prayer could not hurt.

Best of luck to him, Sparky. I had a relative (mom's cousin's husband, I think) who had had a stroke in late middle age (sixties, I think). He never regained the ability to speak, yet he seemed to carve out a happy & full life for himself.

So even if he never fully recovers, there's still hope.

Yes there is power in prayers. I've witnessed it many times. Tell your Dad the old DOC says to take care and get well.

Update: Thanks for keeping him in your prayers. Yesterday he could not talk and today his words are slow and slured but he is making progress.
