Pilot Pad poured !!!
« on: April 18, 2012, 05:05:18 PM »
Jim Lynch, Barry Turner and I poured our pad today. Note the wire mesh.  <=

It is going to be great to fly and not think about what you are stepping on. Clumps of grass or a fire ant mound.  j1

I need to just focus on flying the plane.

How about stepping off the edge?

Looks like an ankle twister waiting to happen!

You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.

Yea, I know. We are on a old land field and can not break the ground. So we are going to put dirt up around the sides. Kind of build it up like a Baseball pitchers mound. And over time it will settle in.

I would say in two years we will have to weed eat the grass off of it.

If it is a little bit raised at the pilot position it will save some planes that might otherwise graze the ground in too low maneuvers.

You could always put your pilots pad right on the top of a hill... LL~...that way you can do stunts way below the horizontal! :##

Wing-unders?

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

Kreth one of my flying buddies told me of a story that they use to fly and one side of the was down hill. He said they learned how to stunt on the down hill side of the circle. Makes a lot of sense to learn this way.
