Legacy .60 build
« on: December 18, 2020, 10:40:38 AM »
So guys I have a couple questions. In the near future I will begin building a Lagacy .60. I notice the Brodak kit uses the leveling bar method to build the wing. I've used this method with great success in the past however I would like some alternative methods.

Next question, I plan on purchasing a RO-Jett .75 for the plane, do you think this is too much power?

Thanks guys !

Use an Adjusto-Jig. Tape the knock outs in position and put the rod holes so you can install top and bottom spars without removing the wing from the jig. I've built two Legacy's and the wings are straight.
I may be wrong but I doubt it.

I'm using an OS VF 46 in mine and it's plenty of power.....

I built one a couple of years ago. I made a jig up that screws to a flat bench, it has blocks that support the leading and trailing edges. Result was a nice straight and true wing. Unfortunately I cannot find any pictures. Mine was electric, with a big four cell system. I expect the .75 will haul it with ease, maybe even too much power as the Legacy doesn’t have an overly thick wing section compared to others.

I don't know how the SV11 compares in size with the Legacy, but I have the ROJett 76 in the SV and it works very well.  I'm sure that with the right prop and pipe length it would work well for you also.
