Passing of Wayne Spears
« on: August 19, 2009, 09:17:57 PM »
Tonight my hart is again heavy. My good friend Wayne Spears passed away. Wayne was an UNCLE to me. It was a delight to know him. His collection of vintage models, magazines and engines in his basement where something to see. Wayne will be missed.  :'(

Asw all Modelers in the northwest I knew Wayne as adedicated modeler and contest director here in the portland area. I met him when I first moved to portland and also Bill McDow. They were both members of the Bandits club that became to be the stunt club of Portland. At that time the Fireballs was a speed club that had great members like Robert Wagner in it. The bandits had Bill McDow and Tim Dunlap and Gene Matyheney. And Bob Smirthwaite. My sympethiey goes out to the family of wayne and all who new him. He was a gem in the lives of many of us and I for one will miss him a lot. H^^
