Randy, my personal news first!!!
I came home with the same number of flyable planes I went with,, did you hear me? I DIDNT CRASH THIS WEEKEND! of course despite the best efforts of a very  low(you would have been proud) bottom on a vertical 8, I still say there was at least 3 inchs though some will disagree. Then on my third attempt the landing gear on the Oriental decided it wanted to become selfjetisoning and parted company after first coming partially loose and turning 90 degrees to the line of flight. got that one down at the cost of a glow plug and nary a scratch on the rest of theplane, HAH hows that,,,,.
there were only a 3 entered for profile, Myself Pat, and Dave miller. we decided to make it fun and Pat agreeded to a handicap of 100 points. first flights mine 433, pates 437 after the handicap was subtracted,, hm I have a chance,, second flight, me 433,, Pat 444, sigh,, dave flew well though I regrett I dont remember his score. Classic Pat won, John miller got second and Mike foley was third, I came in just after Mike in fourth despite aforementioned issues. Saturday wasa absolutly stunt heaven, the only thing that would have been better would have been some people coming over to support us. Saturday, we had Leo(CD) Richard Entwistle and John miller, oh sorry, Pat Johnston. then our club members. Today was an ADVENTURE to say the least, very high winds but we waited,, Beginners braved it and flew a round. Dave Miller, Richard Entwistle and Logan Just. I was the only Intermidiate so it was decided to have me fly WITH the advanced fliers who were Mike Haverly, Mike foley and myself. Mike Haveerly was first, I put up one flight and calmly packed my plane up but eneded up second as Mike F had a rich run that about did him in in the wind I mean really, Shultize would have been proud as about half his flight was more stunt kite than plane. His second he leaned that Fox 35 a bit and had beetter penetration but had an 8 second overrun, so I got second ;) Howard Rush and Pat J fought it out with Howard gettin er done on his first and single flight. did I mention the wind was um challanging. I was THRILLED to survive my flight today and had an epiphiny while surviving my three combat speed loops. I flew the Vector. Actually spend most of yesterday afternoon flyig the Vector sorting trim and finding the right prop. The barbq at Daves house last night was fantastic as Norma outdid herself again. All in all a fantatic weekend of fun. To bad we didnt get any support from the westiders. The tropys for Classic were brand new fox 35 donated by Mike Foley, on stands donated by Scott Riese and they had new Olc B yand O props on them Yall missed out on a great time despite the wind today.
Hey Randy, did I mention that I didnt break nothin'? after a year of every single contest I dont know what the heck to do with myself, I dont have to fix anything lol.. I will write more later perhaps but I am trashed, I am going to bed.
Closing thoughts, I know you would have if you could have RAndy and I thank you for that, a huge thanks to Leo Mehl, Richard Entwistle and Nick, John Miller, Howard Rush, Mike Haverly and lastly Steve Helmick for supporting us. We all appreciate it very much.

Mark,

Sounds great. Wish I could have been there. Windy contests are certainly nothing new. In some ways, I'd rather have them than dead calm and hot.

See you this weekend at the Roundup.

  John,

Nice that you made the drive up from Salt lake. Too bad we didn't have more people come over from the wrong side of the Cascades. They missed a good contest. Gotta build that twin you have. Let us know when you have the short kit available. I want one. I am going to start looking on the Bay for another nib 21fp

Thanks!

As usual I had a great time and I felt good all weekend.I had great sleeping quarter thanks to Dave and Norma Miller. Really enjoyed talking with John Miller. Mike Foley did a great job of judging and this was his first time. I saw a lot of improvement in all of the flyers despite the weather. There seemed to be some motor run issues but it is one of those things we all go thru from time to time. Thanks to Mark Scharbough there was a few ow's an Ohh's as he continually tries to duplicate Randy powells flying. The good thing is no one lost planes and I didn't have time to fly so missed the turbulance. No one thew anything at the judges so we didn't have to wear helmets. Thanks Guys. It's always a great time in Pasco. Good food, good company and good flying. See yall in Salem.  #^ HB~> HB~>

Yep, it was a great time. Lots of social time to get to know the folks. I especially enjoyed the BBQ at Dave and Norma's. Lot's of great hangar flying. Just a good fun time. thanks to all who worked hard to pull it off

The drive over from the coast is an easy one, sure wish more could have made it.
