Not your daddies Ringmaster
« on: October 25, 2007, 05:49:01 PM »
This is Dee Rice's new Ringmaster 576, my understanding it is designed around a modern airfoil and numbers. I have talked to a couple pilots that have flown it and all say it can hold it's own even in Expert. This happened to show up about the time I was thinking of retiring the TwistMaster so now has became my next build it project.

Dee is having a few short kits made but it was too late so mine will be scratch built. The second photo is the engine and prop I am planning on using on this bad boy.. Probably use a paint scheme like Dee's but black where the red is and maybe gold trim. The prop is a Rev-Up 11-7 found at Finley's in Wichita.. Made from some special wood I was told the old man imported from Japan just before Rev-Up went belly up. I only have two of the darn things but they look so cool I have to fly with them.

Pretty neat huh....

Sparky,

Be careful with those Leading Edges that Dee molds.  I left them out of the tube the other night and had to pry them off the ceiling.  Scared to weight them since they might be negative weight! LL~ LL~

It is set to go just have to finish up some other stuff first.

For those interested, there is a 526 version suited more for the popular 35-40 size engines out there like a Brodak 40.  Dee is running a LA 46 in his 576.  A Norvel .061 version is also in the works for Leprechan Stunt.  The 576 is a full blown stunt ship that happens to be a Profile and looks like a Ringmaster!

The wing is designed much like the Beringer planes.  The partial span flaps are part of the airfoil.  Built up fuselage construction, and both the 576 and 526 are CAD drawn by Pat Johnston.
