Not stunt but rock and roll, so cool!
« on: November 06, 2016, 07:02:20 PM »
My wife and I were in Las Vegas last Thursday at South Point casino, I was walking through a slot machine area, and out of the corner of my
eye, I see a woman taking a picture of two guys, then I hear another guy say, your the man Eddie, I turn around take a good look and I say
oh crap that is Eddie! Eddie Van halen  was standing right in front of me. Well he couldn't have been more friendly, I shook his hand and
thanked him for the thousands of hours of enjoyment I have had listening to his music over the years, he truly seemed touched. It made
my day.

Well maybe not as cool as a rock and roll icon, but I got to see and meet Eddie Munster (a.k.a. Butch Patrick) today at a local vintage toy show. He was also a very cordial and nice guy. I think he did some R/R after he quit the child actor bit?

Butch comes over to my neighbors house all the time. I have met him but I don't know him. He dabbles in cars now (hot rods).

I was friends  with Rod Serling for many years. I met Rod through business in 1964 and we became friends through mutual interest. He stayed at his parents house on lake Cayuga in Interlaken NY during the summers and going back to LA in the winter. He was well known around Binghamton NY as he grew up there and came and watched us fly CL on the south side of Binghamton in the 1960's. I had mentioned I new Rod but I don;t think my flying friends believed me. I said he is going to come buy today and he showed up. I still remember the look on the guys faces. Years later when I was living in Clearwater Florida I new many of the legends of R&R as I wallpapered there houses and many lived within a few blocks of me. Joey Dee was my neighbor. Clearwater is a mecca of old retired R&R people.
