Northwest Regionals postponed
« on: April 24, 2020, 04:00:53 PM »
Due to uncertainties created by the COVID-19 virus, the decision has been made to postpone the 2020 Northwest Regionals.

The Regionals will not be held on Memorial Day Weekend as scheduled.

At this writing, the contest organizers are working to establish a new date, which will be announced as soon as possible.

Watch Flying Lines for the latest news on the Regionals status.

The decision to postpone the 49th Regionals was made reluctantly.  Unfortunately, a scant month before the contest, too many restrictions and uncertainties are in place.  Restaurants and parks are closed, sporting events are shut down, group gatherings are discouraged and most of the West remains under stay-home guidelines.  Our friends in Canada and overseas who had planned to attend are unable to travel.  It just would not be the contest we all know and love if we try to hold it on Memorial Day Weekend.

We hope to put on the Regionals, maybe even bigger and better, later this year.

Sorry to hear this but I'm not surprised. I look forward to a new date.

This being Oregon, later in the year should improve chances for great weather.  Over the years, we have had some  unpleasant weather during Memorial Day weekend in Oregon.
89 years, but still going (sort of)
