Have the tail feathers been modified a bit?
Looks very nice.  I really like the colors you used.   y1

It's from the original MAN plans drawn by Wennerstrom. From a Classic Air Models kit, now defunct company from Florida. It was basically a box of wood and photocopied plans. A labor of love!

As I was building it, I hit a snag. I called GMA in SA and we talked for close to an hour. He was a little bitter about the outcome of that agreement to kit his plane; he got screwed! He did encourage me to do a good job though! He passed away about the time I was finishing the model, and I had really ill thoughts about even finishing it, almost guilt. Its a very special plane.

Fox .35, original tank made from plans, silkspan and AeroGloss dope. Had the graphics on the wing cut. The creme coloring stripes were intentional(they were white); I shot thinned Minwax Polyurethane over the entire plane to give it the yellowed aged look.

No Harleyman, tail feathers are original from the plans.

Bill, it hasn't flown yet. As stated in earlier threads, its a closet queen. I do intend to fly it one day after I get the rust knocked loose with other less worthy ships!

Thanks for all of your kind comments!
Richard

Richard; Truly a work of art. The more I look at it, the more I like the colors and the aged petina that you have added. That is one of those planes that you set on the coffee table, get yourself a cup of coffee, and just admire your handiwork.

Thanks Jim and Ty!

Ty, What kind of pushrod end did it have? A Z bend? I didn't ever stop and think about the feathers being the same as the Chief, but your right. They're identical! y1

So I guess your going to do surgery from the bottom? Thats gonna be tough! Maybe its time for some ball links and CF while your in there!Good luck! :D

Richard, your Nobler sure looks a lot better than mine did.  Mine was a Brodak kit built box stock.  Was first GMA Award recipient at VSC with it.  Amazing how things work out as I had a Dale Kirn plans built Stinger I was planning on using until it bit the Arizona dust.  Now I take planes that are well tested before going to Tuscon now.  Hope yours flies as well as it looks.  DOC Hollliday

Thanks for the kind words, Doc! By the time I get ready for VSC, It'll be time proven or deceased!! I seem to recall you getting the GMA award. What an honor from a great man!! Good luck on your next rounds!
