Nice safety wiring but drilling the holes had to be a pain.

Locktight works very well also.
I have engine bolts that have not been tightened in 3 years.
You just have to retighten them after the first time you run it.

Really I didn't do this as a practical solution. Just a novelty done by someone with too much time on their hands.

Unfortunately, the clamping and the engine vibrations will tend to compress the wooden engine bearers and then the engine may no longer be held tightly by the bolts. This may lead to even more vibration by the loose engine. The safety-wired nuts won't come loose but the engine may be loose.   HB~>  Sorry.

Don't let the AMA see this, they will make it a safety requirement.

To all;

   As Keith has stated ,he did this because he had time on his hands. This is how a lot of innovations occur, someone has time so they put it to good use. I have been priviledged to see some of Keiths' other work, he is one of the most talented machinists I have seen in a long time. Keep it up Keith, I for one will never get tired of seeing what you come up with. Surprise me some more OK?

Now Keith, not to be sarcastic as I like what you have done.  But, what if you can't get to the nut end of the bolt.  I just lost a bolt on a flight because I did not take time to check them before the first round of OTS yesterday.  Got the pattern in tho.  Keep up the good work.  DOC Holliday
