NO MISTAKES...JUST LESSONS TO BE LEARNED
« on: February 19, 2007, 04:29:36 PM »
The nationals are always filled with stories...that build the character of stunt modelers.
The first shot is of a hopeful young flyer that gave all that he could be....he went for broke, and although his beautifully built and flying Nobler...bit the big one, here at the nats. It was so heartfelt...Look at the expression as he walks to pick up the pieces but at the same time....so uplifting to see so many flyers, not only helping him pick up the pieces...but also seen giving him congrats and encouragement to keep on going.

The other photo is of one of the greatest moments...seeing such a young gifted flyer that truly was into the moment. How proud he must have felt, out there flying with the best of the best. That is what dreams are made of.
Any one know the names of these flyers? These photos really bring back the memories.

The bottom picture looks like a Midwest or Kenhi Cougar.  Happens to about everyone at some time or another!

That is heart breaking to see beautiful planes go in.  Of course this was back in the days of the Navy Nats, RIGHT, only one chance.  Now a days the plane would be picked up and taken to the nearest work area and be reassembled by some of the best.  I have seen it done quite a few times.  The new format allows that.  Now if I was as well equipped as CSI, we could zero in on their faces and maybe tell who they are.  DOC Holliday
