The late Doctor Dona from Kent, Wa. waaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the late 60 built and flew a very beautiful Hurricane stunter. He asked me one time to give it a test flight and wanted to know if it "NEEDED ANYTHING" in the adjustment department....after I landed it I just couldn't help myself....
and told him as I handed him a couple of small lead weights. Take these two little Pills* (small pill sized lead weights) put them up into that beautiful stunters nose....n' call me in the morning.
That model flew as beautiful as it looked...especially after adding one ounce to the nose...which not only stopped the hunting in level flight...but also really smooooooooooth out the landing approach plus adding a little needed line tension
IMAGINE THAT...A DOCTOR TAKING OL' SHULTZIE'S ADVICE?
Doc Dona was truly an amazingly gifted Doctor of all trades and a really good model maker who's passion for anything that had wings that flew.
I MISS HIM...HIS BEDSIDE MANNER WAS-----UHHH??? DEAD ON HONEST! A good friend gone too soon.
Here is a shot of his young son...launching his model at the 67-68 Albany, Oregon contest.
