Stunthanger Forum.
Some of the members might remember me as one who supports the
stunt hobby sport in several ways. Like most stunt fliers, I have been in the
hobby sport from an early age. Hand launch gliders in 1958, American Boy
C/L with an OK Cub .039 free flight engine in 1962, indoor microfilm at The
Great Lakes Indoor Air Meet at the Cleveland Public Hall in 1963, C/L contests
in Solon Ohio sponsored by Taggart's Hobby as well as providing a field at
the farm where I grew up in Chagrin Falls for a youth beginner F/F contest
with Taggart's sponsored Goldberg Ranger 30 and Cox Pee Wee .020's.
Then in the 80's, getting back to C/L with a Ringmaster and a Fox 35
in southern California. Being self employed as Toms Machining service,
I have made C/L parts and accessories such as mufflers for Tom Lay and Eric Rule
as well as a Blue Magic Fox .35 Hemi Head sold by John Brodak and Tony and Addi's
as well as my own version of a R/C to C/L stunt modification with Tower .40 and O/S .40
FP. Having retired two months ago, I have been downsizing and wish to unload my
collection of C/L stunt kits and engines including 43 O/S FPS engines new in the box,
universal stunt spray bars and stunt venturis. After visiting Chris Forbes yesterday
at the Sepulveda Dam C/L site, Chris suggested Stunthanger as a good place to advertise
my stuff and join in great C/L discussion. Sounds good to me!
After a 23 year hiatus, I would enjoy re uniting with some of
the members and engage in stunt discussions, catching up on the latest status with
C/L. I am also an ex member of P.A.M.P.A and enjoyed reading every issue of Stunt News
where I also advertised My "Happy Camper" stunt engine reworks.
Although physical limitations prevent me from active C/L flying, I still enjoy
smelling that castor oil and listening to that 4-2-4 classic stunt run around the circle.
I have parts sketches, tooling and fixtures for many applications. Most of the stuff
will be given away or no profit desired, just knowing someone may be interested in
doing something with. I don't know the best way to list my stuff but maybe Email inquires
may be the way. I am also a long time member of The Turbo Diesel Register with my username
as Tommyturbo.
