New maneuvers????
« on: August 09, 2006, 08:03:12 AM »
I know almost everyone here flys a pattern. But I got to thinking, is there any other maneuvers that you can fly other then what is in the pattern.
Has anyone every did any maneuver and considered it something new or that have seen no one else do? Or putting different combo’s together.
I was just sitting here thinking….. maybe do a full loop and then go into a wing over.
Ryan did a wing over one day and then turn the plan around and went right back over the top again. I know the wind plays a factor, but it looked kind of cool when he did it.

The oddest manuver I have seen done was a "bow tie".  One fella does a Hourglass on it's side with a loop for the knot.  I can't even describe the *how to*.  **)  **)

the important part of this manouver is at the junction of upper and lower hemisphere-you must touch the lower with out entering it.

outside oblong triangle at 45deg to vertical -low end has to have prop clip grass or no points. the up line is vertical(like up line on wingover)

if you remove tips of prop during manuver (when done on concrete)is high score.
broken needlr valves is low score.
hitting prop on ground and killing engine then gliding to a perfect landing is medium score.
killing engine(from prop strike) and then pull up to vertical and letting it stall at the top of circle and catching it inside of pilots circle wins!

heck if you can catch a rat moving around 100+mph with one hand then catching a combat with 2 hands is a peice of cake-right?   n~

i used to do this with ama fast combats.couldnt get anyone to tell me my score-they just walked away shaking their heads  %^
Dad thought it was cool

disclaimer--dont try this at home   I am an x-expert

pratice makes perfect if you pratice perfectly!

I would guess that a "Pair of specs" refers to a pair of eyeglasses?

Level upright, outside loop--outside loop, level inverted.  Sounds reasonable to me!

I routinely finish the pattern with two outside triangles to unwind the lines before landing.  Outside triangles are done by many PA flyers to unwind the lines.
