New Kit release
« on: June 15, 2006, 08:29:49 PM »
Hi All,

My good buddy Joe from SS Hobbies is about to release a new kit and asked me to let you all know about it.   the kit is a profile version of the Strathmoor stunter aimed at 35-46 sized engine with 55" Span.

Kit is all laser cut contest grade balsa, with laser cut ply doublers, full hardware pack, cad drawn plans and build article.

I built and fly the prototype and it is a very nice airplane to fly, the all up weight was 39oz, so pretty light for me.

Price is yet to be decided, but looks like it will be between $79 and $99....TBC....

below are 2 pics.... release date should be July 1.  For more info, go to www.sshobbies.com

Thanks

Wynn

Looking good Wynn: Are you using a LA 40 or 46. What other engines did you test with?   Thanks

Come on!!  Give us wing area and span.  Solid profile or built-up.

OK...Solid fuse....the wingspan is 55"...the area I am not sure on....but think it is 520 or somthing like that.

I have run the LA46, 40 and 25 on this......the 25 is a little too small....the other 2 have more then enough power....had to bend the landing gear forward a little to stop it nosing over with the larger engines......but the kit may have fuse mounted gear instead of wing mounted.

plane flies VERY nicely....

Wynn,

The kit is being cut and we should have them in stock the first week of July. The first 10 kits will have fuselage mounted landing gear due to complications in bending with the manufacturer.  Looks like retail price is coming in at  $79.99.

Thanks for all your hard work on this project!
