Who went from your neck of the woods? Jimmy (Welch) was planning on it, I think.

Jim was the only one that could go from our area. But the last time I talked to him he said he was going to harass you into going. I think he took a second in something Saturday.

Well...it not only threatened rain but it did rain...Saturday it rained so instead of sitting around Tom sent us all to lunch until 2pm and by then the rain had quit so
we started to fly.  I know we still had a good time and the weather after 2 was
near perfect.  Sunday was a little blustery and cool (60) but flying started on time
and we were done by noon.  The rain started just a few minutes after presentations were made so with handshakes and farewells everybody headed for home.   Ten intrepid flyers were at the event although the economy and the weather i'm sure played a part in the lower turnout.  Without a doubt we need to support these long standing contests when we can so as not to lose the few we have left to attend.

Judges were Dale Berry and son Derek Berry and also father and son Gruber plus
Ron Farmer was there on Sunday.

Tom Morris had his store of goodies with him as did Tom Dixon.

Old Time was won by Roy Trantham
Nostalgia was won by Kenny Stevens and second by Bob Dixon just a few points off.
Profile.....CRS has me....fill in later.
CLPA
Expert / Kenny Stevens again Bob Dixon just a couple of points behind in second
Advanced / Roy Trantham
Intermediate / Jim Welch and second Dave Shad
No Beginner or Basic entries.

Way to go Jim Welch. But slow down, before you move to advanced, you need to wait till I go to expert. Its hard enough to place as it is.

Thanks John....I'm at about a 10 on the fun-o-meter so far and have just started remembering the pattern. You got plenty of time to hone your skills....The Atlanta contest was a blast and I learned much there.I must thank Kenny Stevens for some great help and mention how absolutely beautiful his SV22 ship was.As usual a great bunch of people to fly with and can't wait to do it again.   Jimmy
