Nats entry fee question

No, this isn't a thread to gripe about the cost of the entry fee for the nats.  I'm just not sure how much the fee is.  The AMA entry form is a bit confusing to my ignorant brain.  If I read it correctly it says the fee is $45 basic registration + $45 control line registration + $10 for single event entry(Advanced PA entry) for a total of $100.  Is this correct? Thanks and sorry for the ignorant question...This is the first time i've entered an official control line event at the nats.

entering the Nats would be $100. That sounds like a lot, and it
has gone up some in the past few years, but overall it is worth it.
The contest is well run and it is a huge undertaking.

Yes, what Steve said! 

It takes a lot of people to run the Nats. An ED, several tabulators, 12 judges, 2 pull testers.  After the AMA takes their "cut" from the entry fees, we are left with some money that is distributed to the workers. It is a small fraction of their cost to be there to allow the contestants to do what they do.

I know you were not complaining about the cost, but I just had to add that in. The AMA tries to make a "universal" entry form for all events, in a confined space, and this is what happens. It is not as clear as it should be. My apologies.

Oh crud, I must have missed the 10.00 fee when I filled out my form.  Anybody have any idea on who I can talk to at AMA to get them the missing money?

I don't know, but be sure to get it straightened out before the entry deadline.  I missed one of the fees once, and they weren't going to let me fly stunt.  I was able to petition Warren to let me in in that case, but I've seen guys turned away in bygone years.

Well, I just got off the phone with AMA and was told that my 90.00 was correct and that they had my paperwork all in order.  I hope its still in order when I get there...

Thanks for all the help guys!  I've flown free flight at the nats quite a few times and it was no easier to figure out how much to pay there either.  I certainly wasn't implying any negativity for the cost involved.

The way I read it, the basic fee of $45 will allow you to enter all the events you want, CL, FF, RC, and/or Scale.  If you miss the June 25th deadline, there's a $50 late fee, for a total of $95.  Having paid this, you're into The Nats, but no events.

CLPA events 325 or 322 (not both) cost $45.
All regular CL events cost $10 each.  
First Scale event $20, additional scale events $25 ( a unique quantity penalty).
So your total fee (assuming you're not late) is $45 plus the fees for the events you enter.  

So one Stunt event will cost you $90.

PS: 
There's no penalty for adding events on site.  You could just pay the $45 plus one $10 event, (total of $55) and add the events you decide to fly when you get there. 

PPS:  If you just fly non-Rule Book events, like Speed Limit Combat, the AMA fee is $10 (for all you can eat), plus whatever the SIG (MACA) charges, $10 in this case, total traiff, only $20 to compete in The Nats.
