My new ride is almost ready for prime time
« on: July 19, 2011, 06:34:23 PM »
I finished the 2 Bits Bipe with the exception of the leadout ends today. It looks good, if you're standing 10 feet away. I had some paint problems, and finally decided I'll live with it.

It's a total take apart, and I've a sequence of about 50 pictures that detail the entire assembly process, but I'm not sure about posting the entire thing, so here're a few with the plane broke down into it's sub-assemblies, and a few of it assembled. H^^

Another fine example of False Advertising.

" Two Bits Bipe "

That clearly breaks down in way more Bits :)
looks great in those colours. Ive always liked Yellow and white with contrasts.

John,

That looks great!  Quite a bit of engineering from a take-apart standpoint.  I'm really interested in hearing the flight report.  I hope it performs for you.

Looks great.  Now how long does it take to remember what goes where so it is flyable?   I imagine tear down takes less time.  Hope it flies as well as it looks. H^^

John, this isn't just above and beyond; this is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYY above and beyond.  Simply gorgeous.  I'm almost like Mark - the difference is that my passion isn't a secret!  I am drooling and slobbering here, just shorted out the keyboard.
Now...please go fly it.

Kudos and Accolades.

One of the few departures from the slab sided Nobleresque CLPA designs. It's nice to see something that has not be done, over done, and cloned countless times.

Hey Mister! You gonna fix that busted up airplane or can I have it?   :P

Well, yes that's part of it. The other part is to allow easy modifications should actual experience show a need for a change to make it perform better. All the parts are replacable this way. H^^

I was hoping you didn't see that HB~> I almost tried something even trickier, I considered using trans blue on the top surfaces, and trans yellow on the bottom sides. I thought the green sparkle when looking through the panels would have been a treat.  y1

That thought process sounds familiar! :o Of course it would help refresh my memory a little if I got off my ass and built something. I was intrigued the minute I saw the plans you laid out. Looks like she finished up as purty as the plans. H^^

Hi John,

Great looking model and I also like the Ted handle you built for it. ;->

Now, do you have a matching flight uniform as well? It goes without saying
that Two Bits Bipe Team must all be in matching outfits..

Good job.
