I finished the 2 Bits Bipe with the exception of the leadout ends today. It looks good, if you're standing 10 feet away. I had some paint problems, and finally decided I'll live with it.
It's a total take apart, and I've a sequence of about 50 pictures that detail the entire assembly process, but I'm not sure about posting the entire thing, so here're a few with the plane broke down into it's sub-assemblies, and a few of it assembled. H^^

that's one of the coolest planes I've seen in a while....
still can't believe its film on the wings..... awesome job!!!!

Adding a smoke system? ;D :##

Ditto! Also one of the fastest builds I've seen!
Looks great, John!
-
The paint scheme and color choices are awesome! Love the Green transparent `cote.
I assume all the effort for a take-down is for cross-country shipping (Airline?)

Another fine example of False Advertising.
" Two Bits Bipe "
That clearly breaks down in way more Bits :)
looks great in those colours. Ive always liked Yellow and white with contrasts.

H^^ Whew! Very nice John!l
-
Excellent . etc . try & get some of the flying too , please .
-
John,
That looks great! Quite a bit of engineering from a take-apart standpoint. I'm really interested in hearing the flight report. I hope it performs for you.

In the finishing thread, a Stalker brand smoke system is mentioned :P
-
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D
-
Looks great. Now how long does it take to remember what goes where so it is flyable? I imagine tear down takes less time. Hope it flies as well as it looks. H^^
-
BEAUTIFUL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

John,
I like a lot of the innovations in take apart and general design, I look forward to your flight reports,, As you know, biplanes are a secret passion of mine as well
-
John, this isn't just above and beyond; this is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYY above and beyond. Simply gorgeous. I'm almost like Mark - the difference is that my passion isn't a secret! I am drooling and slobbering here, just shorted out the keyboard.
Now...please go fly it.
-
John that is cool! H^^
Waiting to hear how well it flies.

Kudos and Accolades.
One of the few departures from the slab sided Nobleresque CLPA designs. It's nice to see something that has not be done, over done, and cloned countless times.
Hey Mister! You gonna fix that busted up airplane or can I have it? :P

Well, yes that's part of it. The other part is to allow easy modifications should actual experience show a need for a change to make it perform better. All the parts are replacable this way. H^^

I was hoping you didn't see that HB~> I almost tried something even trickier, I considered using trans blue on the top surfaces, and trans yellow on the bottom sides. I thought the green sparkle when looking through the panels would have been a treat. y1

S?P May we assume you are going flying this weekend? ;D Cant wait for the flight report!
-
In a word, YES. I'm really gettin' pumped, and worried. Like, did I forget anything????? ~^

That thought process sounds familiar! :o Of course it would help refresh my memory a little if I got off my ass and built something. I was intrigued the minute I saw the plans you laid out. Looks like she finished up as purty as the plans. H^^
-
Tomorrow is the day. I built and finished a Ted handle just for this plane.
-
"Another fine mess you've gotten us into Ollie" Now I WANT one?????
Sheesh, always lengthening my building list John!!!!!!
Allen Brickhaus
-
Thanks Allen. Here's to successful first flights. H^^
-
John, you are too cool for school! I'll be checking the forum tomorrow for a flight report for sure! Now don't rush things and push it too hard if there are any issues...live to fight another day and take her home intact.
All my best,
EricV

Hi John,
Great looking model and I also like the Ted handle you built for it. ;->
Now, do you have a matching flight uniform as well? It goes without saying
that Two Bits Bipe Team must all be in matching outfits..
Good job.
