I went with the McCoy .29 instead of the original planned .19 had to cut out more plywood on the inboard side, but I re-inforced it with a louvered piece of aluminum I fabricated...hoping it will act like a heat sink too! Made a new style muffler.....! Spare me no criticism...I can take it!

ok.....criticism....lemme see....hmmmmm....your wheels look funny!   I love the louvered peice, very cool and I like the muffler you made, should work excellent.  I bet if you made those louvered peices in several sizes, you could easy sell them.  Very nice.

As Gravitywell states the wheels look odd.  Is the louvered peice functional?  Also is the so called muffler from the other post?  Does it fly as bad as it looks?  You know you asked for it.  The plane looks great for sport flying.  DOC Holliday

Okay....I'll admit the tires look kinda big....but you should see these crop dusters across the road...I didn't know them thangs was so big till I walked up to one....we're talkin "bigfoot"! But that's kind what ya gotta have on the planes with 48" wingspans...the smaller planes like the gold Flying Clown in the background in the first pic....has 2.00 tires, and has a rough time taking off in the grass. The bigger clown has 3.25s. If it gets off the ground like I believe it will...I will switch to smaller tires.

Yes, the louver is functional as a air cooler....I hope, it being aluminum; it will also pull some heat by conduction. We'll see when the Mercury gets above 100 degrees. And yes, same muffler in duplicate. The handlebar only had two equal and sufficient curves to use, but I know where there's a jillion old saws....just gotta be very careful cutting the rubberized coating off...some have gotten pretty hard laying out in the weather.

Very cool John!!, nice and shiny!! Wish my planes looked that good. But the proof is in the puddin' ( i mean flyin' ) . Let us know how it flies,,,   i too like to change things up a bit, i like your style.

I'm gonna fly it very soon, I'm just waiting on the grass to come in tight, and the fire ant's to didi mao! I'm putting out Amdro for that....hope it works, I'm the OF that usually stumbles into a nest of them, and my legs ain't as tough and hairy as they once was. Thanks for all the favorable comments....I know it isn't all that...but I used a few pointers I gathered from you all....I even slowed down the construction because I wanted to give the impression I am being careful And, Michael; You can't see half of them.

    Nice Nice Nice!!!  I really like how those McCoy series 21 .29 engines run also! The .29 puts out more power then the .35!  Have fun and let us know how she flys!

Aw....I almost went with the .35[series 21]....If I'd know that pointer I certainly would've....I have a .29 on one of my Rinmasters[S1] that litterally will drill me into the ground. It feels like a sherman tank out on the lines, and has a 4 ounce tank...needless to say, I only fill it part way! If this one pulls too hard, I may put the .35 on in it's place, and my other .35 on the Ringmaster as well....I've tried a couple different props but it[Ringmaster] seems to like them all! Wonder how bad the >40s would be...I have two.

     Yes, You may want to try the 35 instead of the 29. I think you will have more fun with it. The 40 is an excellent stunt motor and was popular back then. It would be too much power for that plane but if you build a bigger plane try the 40. You wont regret it for sure!
