My NATS experience

I flew Sunday in the beginners. No i dont know the whole pattern, but i just went out there and did the maneuvers i did know. I HAD A BLAST!!! I must say Congrats to Samantha who flew in the jr./sr. beginners. You flew very well. I was impressed!!!!!   Thank you to Mike Stinson, Allen Brickhaus, Wes and Wes Aekins for talking me into flying. It was worth it and motivated me to improve. And thank you too Mike McHenry for helping me in the pits and launching my plane for me. You were a GREAT HELP AND VERY APPRECIATED. And once again, thank you to Allen Brickhaus for running the beginner event and doing an awesome job at it and thank you to all those who helped Allen.  WILL BE THERE NEXT YEAR AND READY TO FLY !!  I enjoyed the friends i made and had fun meeting some of the big names in our hobby. Heard allot of great jokes and stories and took allot from there. Cant wait till next year.

I also must add, that i love the atmosphere. Yeah its a contest, But ive noticed about control line, is all the flyers are there to just have fun and make friends more than anything and more then competing. We have a great Hobby thats full of great people.

    It stays like that all the way to the top, for the most part. People get nervous and they take winning very seriously but no one (well, almost no one) loses the point. Most of the stuff you hear on the internet about controversy and conflict is grotesquely overblown compared to the real thing.

That is one thing about the NATS, at least the last few I attended.  The people are great if you don't bother them if they are getting ready to fly or are having problems.   Yes there is the bantering back and forth that I call mind games, like was that needle setting a little fat or looks like your bottoms are a little high.   The best line is when you ask if they  breath while doing a maneuver.  Glad you had fun and hope you keep having fun.
