My wife passed away!
« on: February 16, 2008, 03:06:53 PM »
Hi all!

Just to let you know my wife 'and best friend' of 35 years Carolyn passed away Tuesday.

She was diagnosed with SLE (look it up) 25 years ago.

20 years ago she had Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma (a form of cancer).

About 5 years ago she was diagnosed with Scleroderma (look it up).

4 years ago I lost my highly paid job (as a computer programmer).

3 years ago I started work at Sainsburys.

2 Years ago my wife was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis and Hypertension (look it up).

For the last year and a half she was housebound and on oxygen 24x7 and on so many tablets I'm surprised she didn't rattle.

It was Pneumonia that finally did for her - but she was a fighter.

Having tried to squeeze in Aeromodelling between caring for Carolyn has left me little time - but when I get back on track (Carolyn's hobbies were dolls' houses and cardmaking - she has a vast collection of both to dispose of) I hope to eventually to do a bit more Aeromodelling!

PS Any one want an unused Valentine Card for next year? (Got to keep a sense of humour)!

At times like this it is very hard to find humor.  Hopefully you will remember all the good times and forget the bad.  It must take an awful lot of fortitude to go thru what you have been thru.  Remember the modeling family is here if you need help.  Yours,  DOC Holliday

One thing I always try remember in times of loss is that God's timing is perfect. He is never early or late for anything. We are never ready to let someone go.
We will keep you in our prayers.

Tony,

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I've been married for more than 30 years and don't know what I would do without my wonderful wife. I think about that sometimes and it is not pleasant. Keep you sense of humor. It is the best thing for you.

Sympathy Tony. For a long time you have said she wasn't well, but you never let us know how serious it was. Ian R.

So sorry to hear of your loss.

Don't know what I'd do, without my lovely wife of almost fifty years.

It's a very sad thing; I don't know if I could cope with the loss of my sweet
wife Gail.

Now is the time to allow your friends to help you share your grief.

God bless her, and God bless you.

Tony,

My sincerest condolences. I can only imagine what you are going through.

Perhaps it is time for all of us to pause and reflect on what we have. Sometimes we take them for granted.

My prayers are with you.

Tony,
You are definitely a very strong and admirable man to have made the journey you have made and still be in love and have the sense of humor.  I simply cannot imagine what that loss is like, nor do I even want to.  My prayers are going up for you to the One who loves us even more than we can imagine.
God's best for you,
Will
