When I was working in Italy, I hooked up with a great bunch of guys from the GMM (Gruppo Modellistico Monzese) from Monza, a suburb of Milan.
They have a very nice field in Monza and they are quite enthusiastic regarding C/L flying.
You should be able to get more information from two fellows on Stunt Hanger: Massimo Semoli and/or Massimo Rimoldi.
They are both extremely competent modellers and speak perfect English.
Semoli was, as I recall, an FIA official of some sort.
By the way, why are you visiting Milan?

ps - for what it's worth, I went to high school in Milan. It is a magnificent city, steeped in history. It's home to the most famous opera house, La Scala.
You might also visit a neighborhood church called Chiesa Santa Maria Della Grazia (spelling?). In it, you'll find an interesting fresco by Leonardo da Vinci - the last supper.

My son Patrick is there going to POLIMI GSoM for his MBA and has off that week. I will be staying at Hotel Cavour Milano with my daughter and son-in-law. We have plans to ride the 200mph train during the week to Florence and Lake Como. I'm hoping the flooding doesn't affect my plans.
Monza is only 30 minutes away and has a F1 racetrack. :D
Thanks for the info.

If you go near Monza it's worth going to that park and seeing the old oval. The banking is unreal. You can almost hear and feel the old greats powering through the forest. Though it's fenced off, it's pretty easy to sneak in. It's one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

Hi Al.
Unfortunately the field in Monza was dismantled many years ago. In the surroundings of Milan there are two sites where CL is flown. One is a few minutes from Malpensa airport, but it is really difficult to find someone who does activities. Another airfield is in Desio, about 40 minutes by car from Milan. Here, on Saturdays and Sundays, you can easily meet the members of the Gruppo Modellistico Monzese and the RC practitioners of the Gruppo Modellistico Brianteo.

Hopefully, you'll get to spend some time in Milan.
We lived there for three years.
Right next to La Scale is the Gallaria Vittorio Emanuele, a very old indoor shopping center.
On one side of the Gallaria is the  Duomo Cathedral, a magnificent example of Gothic architecture.
They race boats at the Idroscala.
And there's the Monza Racetrack. My Dad was an Executive with Marelli and we had privilege to drive on the track with our personal vehicles (NOT the banked section!).
We were at the race when Phil Hill became the first American to win the word driver's championship. He drove one of the four Ferrari tipo 156 GP cars. Sadly, in the race, Wolfgang Von Trips lost his life.

Al - I hope you enjoy your visit. I'd love to go back but Harriet is unable to make that long a trip.

Al:
If your schedule allows, take a water taxi cruise around Lake Como and cross the border into Logano, Switzerland. Both are not very far from Milan. The snow- capped Alps are a sight. One of the things a car guy notices is that Fiats are on the streets of Logano, but so are many big Benzs and Bimmers. Milan is a fashion center. The businessmen and women of Italy, particularly in Rome and Milan, are dressed exceedingly well. Cool to see gorgeous, well -dressed young women in low heels riding Vespas.  Americans' dress habits pale in comparison.
