Hi Lee,

That's one I am not real familar with!  I *think* I remember seeing the plans somewhere, but I do not remember anything about the plane.

I think I still have the magazine this came out in. As I remember, this was an intermediate plane that the designer did to test out some ideas before he incorporated into his next plane called Aura. I think is was pretty successful and the guy was happy with it. The original was either silver or grat with a ton of inklines.

Just went to the Carstens Plans Service site.  The Metaphor 2 is a profile control line stunt plane.  Designed by B. Bradford.  Published Flying Models 06/76, 52 inch span, plan #CF409,  price is $*.00 plus S&H.  Later,  DOC Holliday

PS:They have more C/L plans listed than anyone else in the publishing business.

I do not know if this is the kind of information that anyone is looking for here but, the Metaphor 2 by Bill Bradford was published in the June 76 issue of Flying Models.  In his article, Bradford explains that the wing is the same as his Metaphor 1 design in the January 75 issue of Flying Models with 530 sq in.  Bradford explains what he considers a larger "tail-volume coefficient" that he incorporated in his Metaphor 2 design.

I got the building article with the plans and he was very weight conscious. I noticed the wing is completely sheeted in 1/16th, wouldn't that be heavier??

Many times, filling balsa and tissue is less weight than filling open bay tissue covered wings.
