Merry Christmas to PAMPA and..............
« on: December 09, 2018, 10:37:51 AM »
D>K I felt obligated to publish this news for those who may not know.

Our good friend Roger Wildman who passed away last November left a Christmas gift to PAMPA, AMA and FCM. Roger wanted his passion for modeling to live on, so he left us all a gift. PAMPA was sent a check for $41,000.00 and change. This might tell you of his love for this hobby.
There will be a void at the coming Nats and FCM contest, I still miss not talking with him many times a the week.

So merry Christmas PAMPA.

If you attend the Nats next year you will probably see a new L-Pad, thanks again to you-know-who. #^

Blessings
Allen

Well God bless the man! I met and talked with Roger many times. I had seen his picture in the old magazines many times, and like the picture presented here, always felt that he looked exactly the same and never aged! The new L-pad should surely be named after him to recognize his generosity and devotion to the hobby.

Thanks Alan. I never knew.

What a thoughtful person! All I can say is THANKS Roger for your very generous donation.

And Yes, the L pad should be named for him!!

Same from the old man.  I never got to talk to him that much but yet he was a gentleman to me. H^^

Well, this just shows one more time the character of Roger Wildman. What a blessing he left behind for all of us.

God Bless Roger... and I know He has.

Yes a great thanks to Roger!  I feel I need to clarify a little though before this gets out of hand.  First I understand Roger didn't want anything named or memorialized in his name.
After my discussions with Joyce Hagar at AMA I can tell you a NEW LPad isn't in the cards.  My question to her was the first she knew of it.  She said "people do talk".  She has a bid to DO REPAIRS on the pad for $52,000.  She is going to ask the EC for another $11,000 to put with Roger's money to do the repairs............

Well that sounds just like Roger, what a wonderful gift to P.A.M.P.A. and AMA.  I have known Roger for a long time and he was a gentleman and very gifted model builder and flyer.  We will all miss him and thank him for this every time we fly at the Nat’s.

I did not know ROGER very long, but he was always so cordial to Kathleen and I when we would see him at the NAT'S. I knew of Roger many years before I met him through the modeling mags., and Stunt News. So it was a pleasure to finally meet him at NAT's in his later years. MR. Roger left a very big positive mark with people, and his wonderful contributions to our sport and hobby, not to mention, his gift to our sport in the end! I know he's in heaven now rejoicing before the Savior!
