Aparently 80 Oz. is a bit Heavy . Anyone seen or flown one ?

I used to fly with this guy - Ron Adams. Attached pix from a late March 1968 flying session in Detroit's infamous Rouge Park. The Marute was a very good looking and good flying bird - and BIG. Something on the order of 70" span and 800 squares. PLUS its Classic legal...

Well if the wingspan is 70 inches and comparing it to his body size He is a pretty big guy and could probably handle it. It looks great! Not for skinny 165 pounders like me however! My 72 oz Trivial Pursuit used to step me forward in the wind!

Thanks for the pictures . Was one of the ' inspirational ' ones , in the old mag collection .
A moulded fuse & foam wing'd gettit quicker easier & lighter . Maybe . Looks good in Colour .
