Hey John, from the USS Collett, DD730 '61-'63 (Now at the bottom of the sea off the coast of Brazil where it was sadly used for target practice by the Brazillian navy.) http://www.usscollett.com/index.htm

Yea; when I learned her fate it made me really sad. Seems the Collett was given to Brazil when she became to old for U.S. duty. They used it for 10 or so years then it was sunk. I sure would like to have made one more walk through her. Oh well.

Happy birthday marines!

hey Brian, at least you know of her fate.  I have no idea what has happened to the old Essex.  There's a new one, though it isn't really a carrier, but I can't find the fate of the original.  (Probably razor blades.)
