Major Over Haul.....
« on: June 21, 2008, 04:08:49 PM »
Well here she is after all the cutting and sanding. My buddy said I had a 2x4 on the nose of this plane. Some else said I needed to cut all the wood off the nose. So I did and it went from 56oz down to 49.6. I can save a little more if I get a different muffler. I could get it close to 46oz I think.
The CG moved back about 1/2 inch.

Anyway, it is a front row finish from 40ft away. LL~

We will see how it flys tomorrow. Stay Tuned.

Satisfying, isn't it? To be able to carve out such a significant amount of weight...it just has to fly better.

I don't think the CG moved far enough back to hurt anything...in fact, it may well help. Looks about as far back as you'd want to go, though, IMO.
