M & N Special finished
« on: July 20, 2009, 02:56:53 PM »
I just finished my M & N Special today and will maiden flight it tonight. Earlier this spring I lawn darted my ARF Nobler, totalled the fuse but the wing and flaps were unharmed. I built the fuse and tail from the Metaphor 1 plans and combined with the Nobler wing.

Power is a T & L OS 35 S, Ultracoat on the wing and stab, Monokote on flaps and elev. Fuse painted with hardware store rattle can and cleared with Lustrekote. Weights in at 40 oz.

The Metaphor is a take off of the Magician so I'm hoping for the best of both. We don't need mufflers at the Mt Joy airport but I have a Scott Dinger tube on order. This was set up for one to begin with.

That is really nice.  I like the colors and the simplicity of the finish.  Should be a nice flier too.

Thanks Zuriel, Just got back from flying it and it's a keeper. Floyd Layton knew exactly what it needed and it flys great now. I had a strap on muffler from another engine and the added nose weight settled it down, next I'll replace the 10-5 with an RSM 10-6 for some more speed. I just hope the weatherman is wrong for the rest of the week and I can get some more flying in.

Yeah, Lee was at the flying field getting the grass all oily and stuff.  The plane looked and flew great.  Nice job Lee.  Think how much nicer it would have flown if only it was electric powered.   :)
