I missed that one but there was one episode of "My Three Sons" that featured C/L flying in the plot. There used to be a link here in an old posting but I just tried it and got a "video no longer available" message.

Oh wait I think that's the on I'm talking about.

The end they were flying in a stunt contest and went into a loop and crashed?

The only things model related I ever saw on Beaver was an episode where he spent his uncle's birthday money on a tether car, A Cox Mercedes racer I think, another one dealing with kites, and one where Beaver has a stick and tissue model on a building board in his room.
The show "Hazel" had at least one episode where the boy in the series was flying control line models. Lassie had an episode where Timmy was lusting after a plastic RTF model in the toy store window, and after Lassie saved him from the well again, they showed him flying it in the family pasture.
The best was probably the My Three Sons episode that was mentioned. It's on YouTube in three segments and was sponsored by Wen-Mac. Search here for the previous thread that had the link.

My Three Sons

That was a great episode of My Three Sons and a reminder of a time long past. How far we have fallen

I love the scene where Robby changes hands and flys the plane inverted. Left handed.
What a talented flier.

Well pooh. Tried to watch "Air Derby" directly from the linked website and it skipped and stalled so much it was un-viewable. Downloaded it with IDM and trying to watch it on my machine resulted in the same.

Turning to Youtube for a viewable version and after doing a search it has thus far not turned it up.

Crapola.

Watched it - Not sure those models were capable of over head flight.  Oooo I forgot - Hollywood never let facts get in the way of a good story.   LL~
