Back in the old days of solid leadouts which were spaced as far apart as the length of the bellcrank, we never had to worry about the lines snagging one another where they were connected to the leadouts, but since I took to adjustable, closely-spaced flexible leadouts I've always been happier if the connections are no more than three or three-and-a-half inches beyond the leadout guide at neutral. This is probably erring on the safe side, but it gives me peace of mind.
