I am all out of Fox engines at the moment. It is going to have to endure an OS .35 stunt for a while

Very nice, Keith!   And a nice personal rendition of the "original box art" paint scheme!  BTW: the OS 35S should do nicely.

This was my first scratch build attempt..but it does vaguely resemble a Ringmaster..please dont ask about the control rod, but the shiny Fox looks good, Right?

Is that a diamond airfoil on the plane?  All I can say about the pushrod is,  don't expect to do a very quick up control.  Plane looks good otherwise.  Have fun,  DOC Holliday

Doc..Im not familiar with the diamond airfoil..got the plans from ebay...the ribs had a notched leading edge,for, if I recall, a 3/8 or 1/2 square balsa piece..if that is what youre referring to...oh, the pushrod..in a hurry, wrong bending tools, etc. It will be rectified before flight, I promise. Dont tell "Billy G", but that Fox refuses to do anything but sputter off the prime. I recently installed Randys NVA and something aint right. It ran fine with the stock NVA. Been a bad month for engine problems, but like you say "have fun", and I am!

Randy's Fox NVA is drilled with two holes like the factory one, right? I haven't even looked at mine in months.  If so, face them across the venturi, but so you cannot see them.  If it's a "one holer", put the hole straight down or slightly angled to either side.

Otherwise, make sure you are drawing fuel.  I would say it needs to be about 5 turns open.  Just sounds like it isn't getting fuel.

I dunno, looks like the pushrod matches the canopy profile...

I bet it flies fine, though.

Ok....the canopy profile was an after thought addition with with that horrible  "stick it once and yur screwed" monocote trim stuff...LOL, no, it has not seen air yet..stay posted....the VooDoo, the second scratch build attempt has a "Gruby" goodwill donation on the nose {God bless him}..an Enya 35....I honestly have not flown in 35 yrs. and have to ease into that one . I will be flying  a Brodak Buster with an OS 35 this week  with another retread buddy, bodsbad, who has an arf FS w/ an osla25. Im  gettin scared just contemplating the whole thing, but there will be cameras onsite, so stay tuned, and wish us well...so far, its  been a GREAT experience since Jan of this year when I ran across this site and all the fine people!..thanx again..Bob

You would be surprised how many of us left the hobby decades ago and came back to it in our dotage.  Many people on this forum can identify completely with your qualms after so long a layoff. I quit in my 20s, came back to it in my 50s, now in my 60s and having more fun than oughtta be legal.   It all comes back amazingly quick! Just relax and have fun, no matter what happens.  You'll be back up to speed before you know it.

The first time that three of us got together to fly c/l  it had been 15/35/ and 50 years since we had flown. The other two had been into RC, but I hadn't. We were all concerned about it, especially getting dizzy. None of us had any real problems. 40 years ago I had a lot of trouble learning to fly inverted. After a flight or two I was wondering if I could still do it. I tried a lazy eight and the plane went so rich that I had to run out the tank inverted.  At least it answered the question. If I would have had any idea that it would still be as much fun as it had been 35 years ago I wouldn't have stayed away so long.
