LA HEAT--20 hour sanding marathon
« on: September 04, 2006, 09:48:11 AM »
I tuned the radio to my favorite country station, turned on the lights, broke out the 220 and started sanding the primer coat on the twin. I started yesterday morning at 6 a.m. and sanded till it got dark out. Got back at it this morning and sanded till I was done.

LESSONS LEARNED:

The radio station has a play list of only about two dozen songs. Brodak primer dulls sand paper pretty fast. And I can stand in one spot for a pretty long time.

YOU GUYS.......heh heh heh.....................

I can't think of a better way to spend the holiday than go thru a few sheets of 220 on an 840 sq. inch plane and listen to how it makes her brown eyes blue, or how when his lady friend said they were going too fast he did what any gentleman would do.............he got a brand new girlfriend....or.....save a horse ride a cowboy. she got the goldmine he got the shaft.

I think I could write a country song myself. Let's see.

          Title--All my buddies are flyin'

All my buddies are out flyin'
cause this is the first day it didn't rain
All my buddies are out flyin'
But I'm here sanding my new plane

All my buddies are out flyin'
doing loops and figure eights
but I'm here a sandin
cause I started  buildin' way too late...........................................

Hi Frank,

If you  can add the four requirements for successful country songs, you would definitely go at least double platinum.

1. Beer
2. Pick up truck
3. Shotgun
4. Hound dog

Yeah, but does she think your tractor's sexy? First time I heard that one I about lost it. Good thing I wasn't sanding an aiplane at the time or I would have gone right through the wing...  careful what you listen to.

I tend to listen to the classic rock stations myself... unfortunately, the advertisers for those stations must seem to think that the target listening audience is in pretty rough shape, needs exlax, hair plugs, hemmeroid cream, viagra, weight loss, lasix....

Like I was telling a buddy one night recently, I was really depressed riding the elevator in the Bank of America tower in Tampa one day when I heard a MUSAK (SP?) version on the Stones "Start me up"... talk about making a grown man cry!

    Let's see--------------------

Title-------------- I got a big 'un

My hound dog  BABE was ridin' shotgun
In the front seat of my pickup
where I usually keep my beer
He couldn't ride in the back today
because my brand new stunt plane
    was a restin' there.
We was headin to the flyin' site
to test out that new plane
but I couldn't see behind me
cause the stabilizer blocked the rear view mirror.

OHHHHH...I got a big 'un!! The biggest plane aroun'
It's so big - so dog gone big
it's gonna be the talk of the town

That ole plane won't fit in my pick up
    it barely fits anywhere
the wing sticks out over the tailgate
and the stabilizers bloscks the rear view mirror.

OHHHHHH..I got a big 'un!! The biggest plane aroun'
It's so big - so dog gone big
it's gonna be the talk of the town

Frank: Don't forget a true country song has to have something about Momma and Prison and Blue eyes cry'in in the night.
You don't have to call me darlin,   darlin,  you don't even call me by my name.

Your right about one thing Frank. We WERE all out flying! I did 2 sessions today.

See ya Saturday at the Rouge Park contest!

Be sure you sand in patterns of the maneuvers. That way sanding can substitute for practice!

My nephew is nearly 17 and he has three tractors already. He always has a girl on the tractor with him. So it must be true! **) **)
