KMFC Xmas Party
« on: December 09, 2007, 04:12:47 AM »
Oh what fun we had at our club xmas party today. (The Kuringai Model Flying Club, NSW Australia that is)

We had a fun fly day, plus an Auction of items donated by club members with proceeds going to the club, a beautiful xmas lunch, plus a chuck glider competition.

Models flown, were and array of F2B Stunt models, stunt trainers, F2D & Slow combat, club racers, and a Bi slob.

The weather started out a bit dull, but got much better as the day went on.  The Auction raised over $1300 for the club which was much more than expected and aver 50 people attended.  Some of the big ticket items auctioned were, new Brodak kits and others, new and 2nd hand engines, used models and miscellaneous items like wine beer and books.

It was one of the best flying days I've been to in a long time.

The Pics
1. Me and Kayla flying my Pathfinder
2. Some of the items up for auction
3. Ian Smith and his Bi Slob (Brendan Farrell launching)
4. Five up at once club race
5. This was really good to watch
6. The chucky comp.

What kind of fuel is that between the phone and the clip board??   DK^

H^^Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas! H^^

Roger

p.s. Tell Ian that circle looks very similar to the circle he flew OT on, at Brodaks. Shed to the side and trees! He must have felt right at home.

That looks like people fuel.  You guys are so lucky this time of year.  As I am ready this we are still getting a fine mist of freezing rain.  Supposed to get snow later on.  No church, slick roads so I can work on the Sheeks Spitfire.  Great pictures by the way and have fun, even tho it looks like your having too much fun.  DOC Holliday

Did Dave and Hugh attend? Dave woulda been right onto that sixpack, at least in the old days!  LL~ Steve

Hey guys

Yes Dave and Hugh did attend.  The fuel in the can is methanol, the fuel in the six pack is 4.9% ethanol - aka beer (Pure Blonde).  There wasnt much drinking being done other than water, coke and tea. :)   Joan McIntre and her husband John were there... do any of you know them?  And yes Ian Smith was there and as always being his jovial self.

The auction was great fun and great value... I scored a NIB OS LA46 and a NIB Brodak Jnr Flight Streak Kit for $130AU

Cheers
