Jesus died in 33AD so 2009-33=1976 so that is when he was ressurected.  But enough debate...

That's right Matt, but it started when he was born, because He came here to die.

I am not a religious scholar now do I understand the dating system. Maybe one of our CMA guys could enlighten me.

If BC was before Christ and AD was after death what was it called when was alive? Where does BC and AD begin and end? Seems there was a 33 year gap while he was on earth. Not that it has anything to do with the reason for him being here. Just would like to know?

It is just the way things work.  O is when Jesus was born and 33AD is when he died.  Now many people are using BCE (Before Common Era) and CE (Common Era).  BCE ends right around when Jesus was born and then CE starts.  In some religions it is the year 7000 something.

HAPPY EASTER TO EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!

AD actually stands for the Latin phrase "anno domini" which means "in the year of our Lord. The year of our Lord "1", or Anno Domini "1" is the year of Christ birth.  Yes, BC stands for "Before Christ".

The scientists are the ones pushing the BC=Before common era,  Ad=after commo era.  even tho true Christians still say Before Christ and after Christ death.  And even then some religous scholars argue the points of faith.  DOC Holliday

The beauty of all this is that theologins can debate and disagree, denominations can argue, but all that matters is that Christ is Lord and accepting Him as such is all that is truly required of us in order to become His child and recieve forgiveness and eternal life!  I'm glad I don't have to be smart, good loking, or anything but His to make it!  Wow, talk about GRACE!  I sure need it!
Blessings,
Will
