I only see it if I click on Home Page.  My desktop Icon takes me directly to unread items and it is not there.

... You have lost a LOT of good people ...

"GOOD PEOPLE" do not tell others what to think or do.  Grow up and come back to planet earth.  Let the schoolyard bullies leave.  Consider it one of your own options ...

Dennis, thanks for illustrating my point.  You are totally buying into the idea that someone is trying to control what to think or do.
It may feel cathartic for many guys to release their inner political gas somehow in nearly every post they make.  To most of the folks reading along though, that continual political flatulence smells and sounds just like a shi#ty fart.  I have no interest in your farts.  Nobody cares about your farts.  Keep your farts to yourself.

- I am proposing that discussions of political ideology don't have a single damn thing to do with control line airplanes.
 - I am further proposing the concept that encouraging some self control in keeping forum posts on topic and not devolving into political diatribes would likely keep more folks active on Stunthanger.

It isn't the "school yard bullies" that have left.  It is the top-5 type nats guys and other talented folks that just aren't participating in this forum to the degree that they used to, or at all anymore.  I know this because these guys actively post on Fa-cebook with their new builds and new information.  This information NEVER EVER reaches Stunthanger.  GET IT!  It ISN'T REACHING STUNTHANGER.  WHY IS THAT? HMMMM, I WONDER WHY!!!@!!!
We all lose out if guys like that don't participate here.

Page one of the OPEN FORUM has 50 threads
currently the only political threads are this one and the HUMOR Thread.
A person would need to be a  Middle School Drama Queen to throw a hissy fit about the Humor Thread..and then flee to FB.
So even a totally blind person only has a 1 in 50 chance of finding a "political thread" on page one of this forum....
It seems that Libs need to go out of their way to click on the political threads..looking for ways to be offended as if it is their sworn duty.

This is where I can sympathize with the folks who want to kill the political stuff.  We have many threads that started out with perfectly good CL stunt questions that drifted off into a insult competition.  So you click "Bellcrank Position" and have to read through page after page of some moron calling some other moron a moron and pretty soon some post that actually addresses the thread looks totally out of place.

It is great to hear from the top guys, but this site is for all of us and I get just as much out of helping a newcomer survive learning the pattern as I do discussing some obscure rule change.  Anyway, in a few weeks building season will be over and we will have hundreds of new planes to trim. Maybe, just maybe, this issue will go away on it's own - my vote remains to leave it alone.

BRENT WILLIAMS, here's a better idea: YOU finance a forum so the rest of us can tell you what to do.

Good grief man, you truly are the bully here - get a life!  Or, are you completely incapable of maneuvering your mouse to avoid posts you don't like!?!

To be perfectly frank, I counted you as a facebook friend - until a couple of years ago, when it became apparent you've appointed yourself as the world's top policeman.  Unfriending was the obvious choice.

I think Sparky is, sometimes, too nice.  He allows people here that should have been gone a long time ago.  One of them is the guy who brags about creating a face book page that competes with this site.   Is there such a thing as loyalty anymore?   How do people come on here and pretend to be a member in good standing, but behind the scenes are undermining the site?  What kind of man starts another control line page because he is unhappy here, but still participates here?   No pride or self respect in my opinion.

And, I have been this person's friend.  I have sent him 2 .15 size engines with props when he was begging for them so he could build and test some .15 stunt planes.  The irony is that he did not use them and when he quit the hobby for (3rd time?) he sold them, not return them.   That right there tells you what kind of person he is.

No integrity or loyalty.

To further Ken C's and many others points here,

Let’s take it a little out of context if I may. Stunthanger is like a party a friend often throws you enjoy going to. There’s food and drinks and if you care to you may wish to bring along a token gift as an expression of appreciation for the invite. You can be assured there will always be good company, fun, interesting people you’ve grown to know over time. Normally the party hosts around 25 people but more recently there have been several who wish to argue topics to the point of becoming heated. One recently became so irritated he stormed off saying he would never return. Over time you’ve noticed the 25 has diminished and several of your closest friends have stopped showing. The party has now lost it’s glow and the few that are relentless continue to become louder and overbearing. You don’t participate and would prefer to ignore them, or even find another room but their behavior has tainted the atmosphere affecting everyone throughout.

So you ask does it require “maturity” to keep from over hearing what now dominates what once was a comfortable enjoyable place? Is it enjoyable being where people that once were fun would prefer to bring up unsavory topics with no resolution. The argumentative few have become so passionately possessed they cannot see the effect of their actions. Do they not have the respect for others or care they are ruining something by conducting themselves in a manner that has no place? If challenged they will of course respond with..they have the right to say what they wish and they do, but at the expense of the party?? You wonder what their goal and ultimate gain is here, what are they contributing?. I think it’s best they take it to the street or even better take it to the bar down the road, surely there will be some folks in there that would love a good conflict. In reality though remember, they’d not longer be sitting in front of their laptop and may very well get their asses kicked good and well. If nothing else get a good “Chris Rock” on the kisser.

Steve
