Was 49 degrees when I got up this morning. Had to turn the heat on in the RV. #^

Sure wish I could carry some of this back to Texas when we have to leave in another couple of weeks.

HHmmmmmmm...
Don't know what all you folks are so excited about.  Here in AZ we just consider 115 normal "Balmy" summer weather.  The Balmy is what you get to be here in the summer time.

That is why we come out in March to play with the planes.  Temps usually in 80 degree range.   But, I remember one or two years I was glad I had my overcoat with me.   Always pack it and my winter gloves because of the states we have to drive thru to get there.   LL~ LL~

IT'S A NEW TRACK RECORD!!  Or Indianapolis record.

106 years ago in 1905 Indianapolis recorded 18 consecutive days of 90 or higher temperatures.
75 Years ago in 1936 Indianapolis recorded 19 consecutive days of 90 or higher temperature.
Today, 2011, Indianapolis recorded the 20th consecutive day of 90 or higher Temperature.

Charlotte only got to 75 Yesterday but one section of town had just over 9" rain in two hours. They closed interstate 85 and 77 for several hours. Only 2" rain at my house. Two women died in the water after they stole items from a store and were chased across a parking lot and ran in to a over flowing creek trying to get away. Needless to say a lot of flooding.

Here is a link to some news about it.Most of the area had 4.5" some had 6.5" and one area had 9.2"

We had rain last night and standing water this morning here in the home of Roadrunner, Wily Coyote and ACME Engineering. It's a dry, humid, cool heat.

Actually I was thinking about turning the heater on. No, really. I live in Santa Cruz and it's foggy here in July. Almost cold! Sorry to hear it's hotter-N-'L where you live. Wish we could exchange equal amounts of air.........would make a rather pleasant day for both of us.  >:D VD~

Sent the following to contacts in Hawaii and England.   Henry says in Hawaii its about 80 in AM and gets to the 90's in afternoon.  Andrew said it was in the 80's and then rained for 24 hours straight.   Finally here in KANSAS Shawnee area it is staying in the 90's. H^^

IT'S SO HOT AND DRY.........

....the birds have to use potholders to pull the worms out of the ground.

.....the trees are whistling for the dogs.

.....the best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance.

.....hot water comes from both taps.

.....you can make sun tea instantly.

.....you learn that a seat belt buckle makes a pretty good branding iron.

.....the temperature drops below 95 F (35 C) and you feel a little chilly.

.....you discover that in July it only takes two fingers to steer your car.

.....you discover that you can get sunburned through your car window.

.....you actually burn your hand opening the car door.

.....you break into a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 A.M.

.....your biggest bicycle wreck fear is, "What if I get
knocked out and end up lying on the pavement and cook to death"?

.....you realize that asphalt has a liquid stage.

.....the potatoes cook underground, so all you have to do is pull one out  and add butter.

.....the cows are giving evaporated milk.

.....farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying boiled eggs.

Now today I plan on sanding the ISW and spraying the color.

Indianapolis just keeps on recording NEW TRACK RECORDS!

We started on July 17 with a high temperature at or above 90 degrees.  Yesterday August 7, 2011 we again recorded a high temperature at or above 90 degrees.  That makes the new Record 22 consecutive days at or above 90 degrees!

They are forcasting a high today of only 83 degrees, I may have to put on a jacket.

I plan on boxing up some of the Glacier ice that breaks off and shipping it to Muncie.
Hope it doesn't all melt before it arrives in Muncie.

The NEW TRACK RECORD for Indianapolis is established at 23 consecutive days at or above 90 degrees.  Yesterday failed by 1 degree making it 24!  Today it is only 80 outside.
