Spotted that one the other day, looks really nice. Does anyone here know who built it?

If you want it in great shape as you bought it that is not excessive.  I had a plane that I forgot when I attended VSC one year.  Daughter paid $100.00 to get it to me.

The A7 is a jet so fast and solid inflight is Scale Realism, taxi, touch and go, take off and landing and high flight would all be well within its capabilities.

"Large Scale" .... Sorry but the elevator on Grant Hiestand's Spacewalker was bigger than this airplane.

But this would be a fast model, but trimmed out right would do very well in Fun Scale

First thing I thought of when I noticed the location Dave, but it's not the same guy. Also had me thinking of another weekend road trip. The other two that are offered are ok, but not done nearly as well as the A-7.

I feel like there has to be a lot of cool old models sitting in basements and attics all around the Milwaukee area.

$85 shipping!? Is he s&**^$#g me?

Apparently you haven't shipped something like this for a while. Packed solidly (ideally a small purpose built 1/4" ply crate) that price is on the lower end of todays reality. Probably a lot less than funding your own all inclusive round-trip to Milwaukee and back too.  D>K

You could build your own for 37.50 in wood.

Add another 300.00 if you elect to build rockets and tanks.  LL~

All kidding aside, the model looks like a great project that the builder pulled off quite nicely.

Would look much better with a spinner.

I like the model.

Looks like the lead outs are attached at mid wing.

Tell me about shipping to Brazil.  I sent some magazine to a fellow modeler down there as I thought he might get better use of them than the dump.  But the cost was worth it to see them get some more use in reading about control line. H^^

Beautiful workmanship.  As noted, it seems to be set up for 3-line throttle control.  With a 32" wingspan it must be 25-sized.

It could be legally entered in Fun.

The no-gear and no-flap penalties would kill it if the builder entered it in Sport or higher classes.

It's relisted. Hopefully someone saves it, it appears worthy of being in a C/L museum.

Leadouts come out right behind the CG, not at the wingtip. Swept wing airplanes have their CG forward of their wingtips.

Chris,

I'm wondering how well this works without that stick mentioned protruding at the wingtip.

CB

As Chris said, it is important that the leadouts be located slightly behind the CG location of the model, like any other CL model, swept wing or non-swept wing.  For scale, it is possible to add some sort of leadout guide at the tip to assure the proper leadout position.  That guide can be set up to be added for flight and removed for static display/scoring.  An example is shown below.

Keith
