Southern Illinois was around 105 yesterday, but our deck thermometer pointed out a 119 in the sun.

We went out this past Monday and it was 102 in the shade, but with the breeze it did not feel that hot. (wind chill factor) LL~

79 degrees and 23% relative humidity under a tree on the patio in Great Falls MT. Winds fairly calm at 10-15mph. We'll be here for another few weeks, then a trip home through the North West and back down to Central CA and 100 degrees + for the remainder of the summer.

Oh well;

Wow, Howard, must be a heat wave in Bellevue. Over here in the hinterlands, it got all the way up to 59 and overcast. Gotta love summer in the Northwest.

Hey Bill; Hope you are feeling better. I have noticed since my open heart surgery that the heat is really bothering me a lot more than it use to. It has been three months since surgery, and I am hoping it wears off. Other than that, I feel better than I did 10 years ago. Seems like it anyway. We have been way over a 100 deg. for over a week. I do outside stuff early in the morning when it is only 80, but then the humidity is high also.

In Renton, WA today, it's around 73 deg. F., not raining, but overcast. You'd think it'd be perfect stunt weather, but it's dead calm. Wake turbulance is a dog killer, so not going flying until maybe later, if the wind picks up to 5mph.
The flying field is about 12 miles.  VD~ Steve

Speaking of flying sites, our "Melton Field" is long gone, replaced by a much needed mobile home business.. ;-(

Sad thing is, there are actually two wonderful flying sites, parking lots for our "Field of Dreams" high school football stadiums. These would be ideal, no obstructions, flat surfaces, and actually far enough from residential section to not have noise issues.

And, of course, these parking lots are off limits, signed to "Keep Out", while they lie idle almost all the time (except during games). I'm sure someone is quite concerned about liability..

Further still, adjacent to the stadium are athletic fields which would also make great places to fly a CL model.

One might get away with flying an electric model, at least for awhile, until our vigilant police force saw them.

The Field of Dreams is about 1.5 miles from my house, even closer than our Melton Field was.. ;-(

In '60 or '61, we lived at Edwards AFB. Apparently, it was a fairly warm summer for there. It got up to 117, and stayed right at 115 for two weeks.  S?P  LL~ Steve

Well here in my part of the country, it is not bad.   Saturday after a day of watching some grea combat competition, the Ford showed it was 105F.  Today it cooled off to only 101F.   The wind didn't come up until the final matches, then it was still called a slight breeze.

By the Saturday it was my orange juice, large coffee and about 8 bottles of water.   Today it was juice, large coffee and only two bottles of water.   Oh, I didn't mention the large fruit blenders from Burger King both days.  T the restaurant Saturday evening I did drink a whole pitcher of iced tea . Might as well be 105 degrees yesterday, and I'm putting down 220 pavers. No shade.

The sun was hot, while fading in and out, the only thing good that came out of it was the thoughts of a pusher prop, bi-plane, stunter.

Well, now I don't have to cut the grass that was in that small area.

The pusher stunter, it's on paper, did the 3-view earlier today.

I'm happy with my first draft, I won't change it.
