Hobby Shop/Flying Field Locator
« on: October 02, 2012, 08:43:39 AM »
Someone just sent me this link. It shows the location of flying fields, hobby shops, RC car tracks and lakes where you can use RC boats. Yes, the map is mainly RC, but still a lot of good info on it.

Wonder if we could get C/L fields listed too??

We've had this for years! Take a look at the Club Locator on the DIstrict VIII website:

http://www.ama-dist-8.org/Clubs/index.html

You will find a club search facility on that page (works for ALL of AMA). When you find a club in the area you're interested in, there is a link that shows the satellite images and aerial photographs. You can pick out the CL clubs in the area and look at where they fly.

Now: if a club has not listed their flying site, have them contact the webmaster@AMA-Dist-8.org and we'll get it added.

New to me! And I found 3 sailing ponds locally I didn't know about... y1 Thanks

Also great for travelling. Go find a local field/pond/shop where you're headed.

It does need some updating since I posted the various site info and maps on our NW Skyraider's site (which is now gone). Ideally, everybody would pitch in and help JT update it. Z@@ZZZ
