Help, PDF Editor software needed
« on: February 27, 2006, 11:24:42 AM »
I need software that will edit an existing PDF file that contains plans for a flight box. I am reluctant to post it before fixing some measurements goofs and would like to update the materials list as well.  I am of course soliciting a freebie as Adobe Acrobat Pro is kinda spendy.

Applause is invited but go easy on the smiter please  ;D

Does your pdf reader/writer allow you to edit the file as, say an MSWord or other general word processor document?

Awkward, but a solid way to do edits. Adobe isn't intended to do word or grammar editing, apparently, but the word processor docs that can be converted to pdf sure are.

Hi Lou,

Not really, it's the freebie version of Adobe Acrobat reader everyone gets.  My problem is this is a file I bought off Ebay and the seller, well intended made some numerical errors and to make matters worse, the font size is huge.  I also want to include a page about the materials so that others will have a heads up before they
start construction.  I sure appreciate the input though.  Now if you wanted me to email you the file (743kb) and you, good buddy, <grin> were to convet it into text file for me, or better yet fix the errors?  I would of course furnish in text form the needed changes and a text list of things to consider prior to construction.

Thanks Marv

And as a bonus, I give you an applause whack, Presto up went your Karma

Hi Tom,

I am waiting to hear back from Greg.  We may have this critter done.
If not, get ready for a file.  My take, this is a fun project that yields a
rather nice Flight Box as an end result.  I am quite pleased with mine both
in appearance and functionality.  I have yet to see a box I would trade mine in on.
I would like to get the file fixed so I can post it along with some photos so the guys
can see if they like it.

Thank you for your kind offer, we may need you yet.

Ahhhh, grasshopper,  so you ventured out in the open where I
can use my smoter thingy huh  :P , well you're in luck today as I
am in search of "Bigger" game.  But be warned, smiters outdo
snow shovels here on the forum.  Now if Mr. Little were to lightly
smite ya with his smoter, well shucks, no harm right  :-X  Get
'em  Bill, use smoter #1 and take dead aim please.

Bill,
I didn't mean do him in, just touch him up a bit around the edges  ;D
Who knows, maybe it could improve his lathe work.  I will be traveling
up to Portland next week to spend some quality time in his shop and could
bring some band-aids to cover the smoter marks.  8)
