Some progress on the Trivial Pursuit

For the past few weekends I've been getting a lot of work done on the Trivial Pursuit.  And now that I've been having my midterms during this week, I've been spending my afternoons building the plane rather than studying (it's overrated anyway).  So now in the past 2 days, I've gotten the engine mounted, and the cowlings tack glued on, but unshaped as of this point.  Tomorrow, I'm planning to get the cowls rough shaped, and hopefully they will turn out like one of Ted Fancher's jobs  >:D

The kit is a good quality kit, although I'm not sure if it was just this kit or it's every one, but on the ribs, some of the centerlines are off we found.  So don't trust the laser centerlines, measure them yourself to make sure they are dead accurate!

And the controls I'm using ball links and a Tom Morris Bellcrank, with the ratios set up just as they are on the plans.

Lookin sweeet!! I would agree that striving to meet the quality of a master builder like Ted is something worthwhile to shoot for. You can do it! Happy new year to you guys!---LOUIE   Oh ya, I have gotten together with Mike and we are having a meeting with a bunch of us to discuss the future and flying sites available to us L.I. u/c'ers. I started ren'oing my kitchen and got way behind in building. I am thinking about getting a Vector ARC or ARF and a Stalker 40 or Enya 40 for it. I'm not sure of how much work will be left in the ARC and I am concerned about the quality of an ARF, problems, problems! Stay well.

Looking real good Matt. I've seen Ted's plane fly often when I lived in NorCal, in fact he and his planes are one of the reasons I got back into this hobby back in the 80's and joined PAMPA. Good, no Great! choice for a model.  8)

I've certainly spent plenty of time attempting to emulate Ted. His cowls are works of art. Something to aspire to. Certainly put your own personality into it. That's what makes this fun, after all. The plane is a reflection of you. Make it yours.

I have the same kit from RSM. Mine's the full kit. I've looked it over and it looks fine, but Matt is building it so I when I get around to building mine, I will make sure the ribs are correctly aligned and not depend on the markings. Thanks for the tip, Matt.

Your welcome Randy!  I do think I've found my own little style now in painting airplanes, and they include red and silver for the colors, They're on the Oriental Plus, and I'm planning to put those colors again on the TP, just a different, and meaner style.  This cowling is definitely going to be interesting, and only hope it'll turn out good!
