How many new models at the KOI?????
« on: January 11, 2011, 07:27:19 PM »
How many of you like my self will  have a new unflown model at the KOI and expect to fly it in the contest???? HB~>
I see people do this at Huntersville and think ,how could they be so stupid. y1
I may even have my old time model fixed and fly it with no practice flights on it. ~^

I will have the stretched PT-19 there with the plasma ST G21 46 freshly removed from the Tutor 2 with nothing more than a ground run.

Garf - I am wondering what sort of performance you are getting out of the ST .46 with the replacement piston/liner. I have not seen a report by anyone on these, although I may have missed it. Power? - reliability? - etc.  Regards, Ed

Surely you jest.  Any model at the KOI will probably be testflown before the competition starts.  It would not surprise me to see new models at a contest and the contestant trying to get it flying before the competition starts.  Get to Tuscon early and see how many are out testing and trimming.  Don't forget the pictures for those of us stuck at home. Plenty of practice time and practice circles at KOI, I believe new models  will be flown alot before the officials on competition day .

Like Ed and others , I will have a new model , But  all day  Friday and Saturday I hope to  get in alot of trim flights before the Sunday Skill class. Too much snow here to get any flying since Christmas

I may collapse from heatstroke in those conditions!  I don't think we have seen 60° here since Halloween!

Guys,
One thing to remember is this is a course grass field and you should bring a set of slightly larger wheels with you. The site is clear on all sides, should have nice clean air. Near by food and shopping on site restrooms.

Bringing my trusty electric Excitation profile and converted Stuka.

Best,        DennisT

Ty,

With all of the bad weather and the week off of work, the new plane has been bench trimmed, looked at, changed, rechecked , etc, same power plant( engine, tank, prop, muffler, etc)  from Dancer,so should just be trim issues,

I don't know how many are out there, but they are no longer being made. Power is up slightly but is totally consistent. They were made by Tony Cincotta in Austrailia.
