I have been intrigued by C.V. Russo's Gigantis flapless stunter since I was a kid.  I believe it was published in Flying Models in 1962.  Wondering how it flies. Has anyone built or flown one?

HI Jim,

I have only seen a small picture of the plans in Tom Morris's/PAMPA Classic book.  Neat looking model, and I *believe* it had a fairly high aspect ratio wing.

No other CL planes. There is a Sopwith SE5A single channel RC, Starduster free flight , and my favorite "Insect-O-Fliers", insect powered indoor free flight.  Built a bunch of those but I'm sure it's not very PC nowadays.

That is one cool looking classic design.  It is a low (not high) aspect ratio wing planform, with a reasonably thick airfoil.  Flapless airplanes work fine, although they may give up a little at the pinnacle of the competition ranks.  The leading edge is a little sharper than I'd like, but not a deal breaker.

I hope sombody builds one.

Send me the plans and I will build it just for VSC. I vaguely remember the design and remember thinking about ordering the plans.  But, back then I did not fly stunt and just grauated high school.   Was also trying to get into the military at the time.

I have the plan as a PDF.  Don't know the scale.  If/when I decide to built it I plan to trace it in AutoCad so I can cut it on the laser.  When I'm done you can have the files.

Outerzone has a pretty good selection of all sorts of plans. Searching for "stunt" found 143 entries, but I'm not sure that is all. If you have a design name in mind, type it into the search box on the Home page to see if it is there.
The Hippocket aeronautics Plans Gallery is another good source but requires registration for downloading or uploading. Browsing works fine without registration too.

Both sites are quite conscious of copyrights and have occasionally removed or suspended plans when the status of a plan was in doubt. I recall Pat Johnston has given Outerzone permission to keep at least one of his plans available.

Nice!  I noticed that formers 1, 2, 3 & 4 and other parts are missing on the original plans.  Shouldn't be too hard to work them out.  And according to the article, there are ply rib reinforcements on ribs 1, 2 & 3.  I think they are just rectangular but not very clear.  The structure is very light.  At 52 1/2 inch span and a Johnson 35, the article original says the original only weighed 32 1/2 oz.

 I've got a set of plans for this one that I got a few years ago, I think from Larry Scarinzi. If you do this one Walter, count me in.

front LO is off original plan then spaced back LO for modern ALO guide
actual placement will be up to the builder
