Would any of the forum members have a copy of the instructions for the Phelps line wrapping jig?
One of our club members donated a phelps line wrapping jig, but no insructions came with it.
If any of you have a set of instructions could you email them to me?

   I have one, but no instructions, either. I can write something up if you can't find any real ones.

Hi DE and Bret, I bought one of Gerry's Line wrapping tools directly from him many years ago and have been using ever since. It's really an effective tool for the use intended! He gave me NO Instructions and no demonstration as to how to use it! It's not hard just apply common sense and you'll do just fine!

  What does one of these look like? I have a fixture that I inherited that I don't know who made it. No markings or anything but it is nicely made and all wood. I some times use it but my main tool for wrapping lines is Jim Lee's wire holder.

The only thing I might add is that you can wrap your copper wire around a dowel rod before you start wrapping, which makes it easier to handle while wrapping.

    I also put a couple of coats of polyurethane wood finish on my jig, just to keep it sealed up and not get dirty over time.

     The workmanship is absolutely wonderful, by the way, like everything Gerry did. His airplanes were works of art.
