Fuel line needed for GAS, not model fuel.

I have a very old chain saw and the wife wants a tree cut down. It has been so long that the fuel line got hard and brittle and is in need of repair.
It is a 27 yr old Craftsman 14".
I never new it but I have a clunk tank in this dude.

Anyone have a source for fuel line?

Tygon or Neoprene would work fine. Any decent hardware store would have it, or a lawnmower shop, motorcycle shop, etc. Be careful with that chainsaw...they're dangerous critters!   Steve

  I understand that the only reason you asked this question was so you could place the order to Tower. I'm afraid even the War Dept. is going to see thru the guise. Just go to the nearest mower repair shop and get it. It will save time. Get the tree cut down and the War Dept. will be happy and let you place the order to Tower for what you are really after.

 HMMMMMM  --- If the wife is the one that wants the tree cut down, I doubt very seriously that he is putting in a circle. This is just an educated guess mind you.

Watch the Tygon stuff. Briggs came out witn a bulletin advising the error of using Tygon around heat.
and beleave me chain saw ain,t the place for it.
After all is said and done the Black neophrene seems to be the best all round.
 Huskvarna and sthil used it .huskv. had theirs formed in a coil as it needs to be flexable to go from one part of the tank to the other. I found Tygon would easily kink when warm.

If that tree is close to the house, and large enough to do damage, you better make sure your insurance will cover you in case of a mishap!

Unfortunately, home owners insurance coverage is like the lottery. Your odds of being covered are slim, to none!

Well bummer... I placed the order this morning for Tygon tubing along with some other "stuff" from Tower. Guess I better not use it. Thanks Mr. Pate

Jerry - No the tree came up along the fence in the backyard. It is keeping the bushes from growing causing a thin spot in the bushes. I was going to use a hand saw but it is just a little too big for that. So no circle being cleared on our small lot. G-Man was correct, it's a "honey do."
I could fly 1/2a maybe but that would require a lot more clearing of trees, and I like my shade trees in the backyard.

Jim - It is all I can do to start and needle a glow engine. I would be lost with the Sparkie's 4 sure.

I just did the same thing about 2 months ago.  I got mine at the Sears parts store for around $3.  You can probably find it cheaper some where else.  What did help is that it came with an instruction sheet that said to cut the tubing at a sharp angle to get it through the tank and then cut square once it is thru.  Without knowing that I would have never got it thru.  I've got a piece left but I need to do the same for my hedge trimmer.

Check your local phone book and go to the nearest small engine repair and get the right stuff.  Also they may need to tune up that wood eating machine.  My son is making a living off people that try to fix those things themselves.  DOC Holliday
