Well, it looks like the TARDS won this time but I can assure you it will turn out bad for everyone. Don't say I didn't warn you. I will be closing the FSZ as there are too many cray babies and I don't need the headache. I would like to add if any of the combative people try to drag their BS into the main forum I will delete your accounts and ban your IP. I have had enough!

 URBAN  Dictionary says TARDS

"Someone who is stupid, but in an annoying way. In fact, if they were actually mentally retarded it would be a dramatic improvement."

This is to funny . Thank you Sparky

I've kinda avoided that area. If I want to hear people screaming about politics, I can go to facebook.

Indeed, the signal-to-noise ratio was pretty low. However, I think you will find that most of the "noise", pre-forum, was due to "baiting", which was nearly unilaterally one direction. If a very few people would resist the urge to bait someone in a way that essentially demands a response, there would have been very little off-topic arguing.

I am perfectly content to stay on-topic otherwise.

GOOD move !   I really got tired  of  all the people going there, then filling my inbox up  with  complaints  that they are mad that  someone  posted their speech, and it did not agree  with them !

I Agree. The "zone" had me seriously considering leaving Stunthangar. This is supposed to be a place where we come for engineering debates and ideas, not political vitriol. However, I had to remind myself of the other category we visitors to the site are members of so as not to leave; . . . . mostly old guys on meds'.

The best part about deleting the Free Speech Zone was also silencing a few of those whose posts in Stunt Hangar seemed concentrated in only that forum.

There is nothing wrong with posting an opposing view, but many of these posts were personal attacks on posters' characters instead of proper discussion. The insults and antagonisms were uncalled for.

Most interesting was when a few I posted in reply explained and exposed their nasty ulterior motives, I got no response in reply, was almost like extinguishing a flame.

Thanks Sparky for deleting that forum, the noise to signal ratio has greatly decreased.

Based on so much of the normal back and forth here on "off" topics I was surprised that you (Sparky) opened up a Free Speech Zone. As I see it the Free Speech Zone might have worked if the fox wasn't watching the hen house.Right from the start the FSZ became a platform for some to spew their political ideology and got their panties in a knot when others with a different view gave theirs. In fact, opposing views were often deleted. In any case , I know you made the correct move by shutting it down. PhillySkip

Sparky, thank you for hosting the Circus. Always fun. I have worked hard to educate and influence all to follow their better angles. Well. Not exactly. This has been a guilty pleasure. Brett is right in my case. Often I've done my best to provoke and agitate the old and entrenched who see it differently. It's been a creative and impassioned back and forth. Perhaps keeping the passion here, keeping it to words, helps defuse. Taking it to the streets can mean physical harm which cannot be undone. Better here than there. At the moment best to cool it. Even on this forum. Someone may say something that causes them inconvenience. Touchy moment. Difficult moment. Our beloved country teeters a bit. I'm optimistic in any case. We'll come through, hopefully for the better. Love you all. Really. Especially when I'm not pissed off. That always passes.

Regarding deleting, I saw pornographic photos get deleted. These were out of place. I saw a few personal attacks with very insulting and uncalled for language get deleted. People are people, moderators are people, there may have been a few mistakes but overall I believe they were taking care of the abusive posts swiftly.

Now that this is behind us, I look forward to the return of CL discussions.

Good move Sparky, the sheep that don't "get it" never will anyway. And yeah, thanks to them we're ALL in deep s--t.

In pre WWII Germany there were basically 2 different camps of Jews.
There were those who saw the warning signs early.. of their freedoms being taken away and many of them tried to warn the others. They were ridiculed by the Jews in the other camp and labeled "Conspiracy Theorists".
These were the Jews who got out of Dodge.
The Jews in the other camp...they were the ones who stayed behind.

One thing that was clearly illustrated, and the root cause of almost all of our problems, is proclaiming loyalty to particular people,  instead of ideas and principles. It has long been obvious in the left, but the events of last week starkly illustrate that at least some on the "right" do it, too.

The other observation is that the last week or so are among the most miserable I have spent in my 60ish years.

Sparky.   You keep telling-everyone to stop ,    But you are the problem. You keep lighting the flame.
You are doing the very thing that you are complaining about.

Well for starters..try to debunk this....
A staggering number of votes required adjudication. This was a 2020 issue not
seen in previous election cycles still stored on the server. This is caused by
intentional errors in the system. The intentional errors lead to bulk adjudication of
ballots with no oversight, no transparency or audit trail. Our examination of the
server logs indicates that this high error rate was incongruent with patterns from
previous years. The statement attributing these issues to human error is not
consistent with the forensic evaluation, which points more correctly to systemic
machine and/or software errors. The systemic errors are intentionally designed to
create errors in order to push a high volume of ballots to bulk adjudication.
13. The linked video demonstrates how to cheat at adjudication:

On January 20th 2021 Joe Biden will be sworn in as the 46th President of the United States of America. It's over time to move on. I wish you all the best. Peace out
